It could use a repaint, and a few more coats of clear. The motor has a dash mounted electric choke and horn button, and switches for lights, bilge pump, and cigarette lighter are mounted next to the fuse panel. The controls are original, and work as they should. This boat turns head on the trailer to and from the lake, and is the prettiest boat to watch when on the lake. The bench seat is hinged and provides space for tool box, and lighted flag pole. She has an automatic bilge pump, which does turn on once in a while as a wood boat does allow some water. She has a working speedometer, cabin lights, and a vintage spotlight for night fishing. She rides wonderfully, and the motor starts up immediately and runs well. We christened her " Rosie's Story" and have enjoyed many outings ironically on Forest Lake at Thousand Hills State Park in Kirksville MO. I performed all the work myself, after researching boat building and purchasing the wood and woodworking tools. After surveying the boat, I decided to rebuild it with authentic materials and bring it back to it's glory. It ran well, but was taking on water faster than what you would expect for a wood boat. I received the boat in 2015, and put it in the water once. The parents shared maintanance responsibilty ie: traierboatmotor When the children grew up and no longer used the boat, they decided to sell it. The kids in the community shared the boat which was housed during the season in a boathouse on the lake. Back story: boat was owned by a community in Forest lake Illinois for most of it's life. Trailer and motor are original to this boat. Electricpull start Johnson with a good head, impellor replaced recently, and refurbish and tune up done by Outlaw Boats in Missouri. Correct silicone bronze and copper fasteners and 3M adhesives where necessary. Transom, stringers, and seats built with correct honduras mahogany. All rot removed and replaced appropriately.
